The Town of Wrightsville Beach has initiated the preparation of an updated CAMA Land Use Plan for the Wrightsville Beach planning jurisdiction. The intent of this project is to establish a solid foundation of the ongoing planning program and to serve as the primary policy guide for short- and long-range planning and programmatic decision-making within Wrightsville Beach. Preparation of this document was undertaken to produce a workable, creative, and dynamic plan to guide future long-term growth and development through the next twenty years.
Recognizing that a collaborative effort with the public is essential, the initial step in the planning process was the adoption of a Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) by the Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen. The Board of Aldermen approved the Citizen Participation Plan on November 10, 2016. The CPP established a 12-member CAMA Land Use Plan Steering Committee to oversee development of the CAMA Land Use Plan. The Steering Committee members, as appointed by the Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen, are listed below:
Darryl Mills, Chairman
Frank Smith, Jr.
Allen Rippy (alternate)
Bob O'Quinn, Vice-Chairman
